Hey people! The sign-up link is live, along with a message from Diane about the camp volunteer sign-up. We’re switching things up this year to help get some shifts covered midweek and to reflect the actual needs of camp and how people volunteer. A ton of thought and care has gone into this, and I appreciate Diane and the VC team for working hard to think about how to spread the load (Josh inserts joke) and to keep the camp volunteers from burnout. The great part is--camp volunteering is way fun and a great way to meet new people and participate. One build shift and one meal shift will cover the base volunteering requirements for an ESD volunteer. If you are coming pre-event and need a SAP, please first sign up for a build shift and then email me to ask for one. SAPs will be issued only for people building and will be dated for the day before your build shift. Stay tuned for more camp communications like how to be a camper, RV services details, placement, etc. Are you so excited!! We can't wait to see you! What makes us the best is the high levels of organization and participation in daily camp operations. Signing up for camp duties is an important step in keeping our camp a wonderful place to live during Burning Man. Thanks in advance for showing up.
This year we are asking those "plus one" guests who are not working for ESD to kick in a few extra hours around camp. This gives your ESD hosts more time to enjoy to Burning Man, given that they are already working notable numbers of hours keeping Black Rock City safe and operational. Minimum requirements for camp duty hours are as follows:
Here is a crucial bit of information:
Kitchen stuff, the stuff of legends:
Beyond your assigned shifts, you will likely be expected to jump in and help at random times upon request. Examples include helping to unload the food truck, raising the Undome, securing flapping infrastructure during raging dust storms, and other unscheduled merriment. Participation is key to our success. We are using the email address you originally signed up with for admission to the camp. If you wish to use a different address for the purposes of camp sign-up, please reach out to diane.t.hodgkins@gmail to notify us. And finally, consider signing up for multiple shifts of the same role and get some ownership of it. This keeps things going even more smoothly. Once you arrive on the Playa, go to the check-in table at the kitchen area to get your bracelet and confirm your shifts. If you are short or don't have any shifts, we'll sign you up at that point. So grab your favorite shifts now! Direct questions or problems to Diane at [email protected] Thanks! Comments are closed.
