 Hey! It's time to sign up to volunteer for camp. Please read Diane's email below for instructions. But first! I've had many emails about SAPs. So here's the lowdown... SAPs will be issued to people coming to help build camp. Camp build dates are Wednesday 8/20, Thursday 8/21, and Friday 8/22. In order to qualify for a SAP you'll need to be signed up for shifts in Signup Genius and sign up by Friday am (essentially any of the shifts except Friday pm). Once you are signed up, you can shoot me an email letting me know you need a SAP. I will send them out in August (if I don't respond right away, don't worry! I'll circle back around and do them all at once). Please plan to be ready to help by your shift start, we are depending on you! And here's the info on pre and post event meals: Pre and post event meals (starting Wednesday 8/20 pm and extending to Tuesday 9/2 strike) are for people who are coming early/ staying late to build camp. It's not our intention to feed all of camp these days, we really can't- the kitchen is not open). You are on your own to eat until the meal service starts on Sunday 8/24 pm, so please plan accordingly. Look out for emails upcoming about housekeeping, how to be a camper, and placement- so much more to come! -s From Diane : Welcome all! We have a wonderful group of campers this year, and what keeps our camp extra special is the level of participation in the day to day operations of the camp. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING UP. Sign ups are about to be open. You will receive an email with a link this evening (July 6, 2025), sent directly to you from the Sign Up Genius platform. We are encouraging people this year, if possible, to concentrate your shifts in one or two areas. This helps you to gain ownership of the role, and generally makes for smoother operations. If you wish to use a different address for the purposes of camp sign up, please email [email protected] to notify us. Requirements this year are 6 hours minimum. Please consider throwing in extra time beyond that, to account for camper attrition and other factors. You may also be asked to jump in at times additionally for tasks that require many hands for a short period of time. An example is unloading the food truck, or raising the Undome. Or putting wood blocks under the electrical system because of an incoming storm. Here we are at a spontaneous dance party last year, celebrating our spontaneous mini work party (see below!). Don't forget that we are always looking for some extra activities/entertainment to raise the BQ of the camp (Burner Quotient). Any and all suggestions are welcome! Former examples include Val's Famous Art Tour (not to be missed), the Touristing game, the Boner game, and a few years of stellar Burlesque shows. We welcome also simpler offerings - foot baths, yoga, Tarot readings? Enter your idea into the Sign Up. Once you arrive on the Playa, go to the check-in table to get your bracelet and confirm your shifts. If you are short or don't have any, we'll sign you up at that point.
